Had the pleasure of spending this past Christmas in the Jamaican countryside. Such an amazing experience. As kids, we had a nickname for this flower.

A special note about Jamaican Patois

Jamaican Patois is essentially a spoken language or dialect and as such there is no rule for spelling or grammar. It is written by phonetics, with an attempt to make the written word sound authentic when spoken out loud.With Patois, authenticity is key, the words flow naturally, it is poetry. I have maintained that Jamaican life is comedy in action lived out daily - that is the power of our Jamaican Patois. My goal in sharing my heritage with you is to bring this to life, give you a laugh and some insight into our special Jamaican brand. - Beverley
